Ilkka Villi has appeared in various films and TV shows such as Bordertown, Imaginaerum and The House of Branching Love. Globally he is best known for playing the title character in the cult video game Alan Wake.

Villi completed his four-year acting studies in his hometown of Helsinki, Finland in 2004, specializing in film acting, with additional studies in screenwriting and dramaturgy. Prior to his career in acting Villi worked as a radio journalist at the Finnish Broadcasting Company.

As a versatile actor Villi feels equally at home on stage, in front of the camera, in his custom-made motion capture suit or in a vocal booth. He is fluent in Finnish, English and Spanish, knows German and Swedish, and something that remotely resembles French.

Villi lived much of his childhood and adolescence in different countries around the world. Frequently adjusting to new environments, cultures and social groups has had a big impact on his personality, worldview and career choice(s). Villi is an open minded, curious and imaginative person, a devoted friend of good stories and deadpan humor.
